What we do

Discover how we deliver high‑quality subsea cable and installation services
seamlessly from engineering to deployment.

Aquora delivers high‑quality subsea cable system and installation services for the UK and European energy markets — seamlessly integrating engineering, procurement, construction and installation into a single, reliable solution.

We combine world‑class subsea installation capability with secure access to premium high‑voltage cable through our strategic partnership with Orient Cables (NBO) - a global leader in the design, manufacture and testing of high‑voltage cable. Together, we provide the certainty, performance and resilience needed to accelerate low carbon power generation and transmission on and offshore.

A commitment to safety and sustainability

Safety is fundamental to how we work. We protect our people, partners and the environments in which we operate by upholding the highest operational standards.

Our approach is built on innovation and responsible practice, from the way we engineer systems to how we install, inspect and protect subsea cables. We are committed to minimising environmental impact at every stage of our operations while delivering resilient, long‑lasting infrastructure.

End-to-end capability

Aquora oversees the full lifecycle of high‑voltage subsea and land cable systems, from early design and route engineering through handling, installation, protection works, inspection, maintenance and repair. Our teams bring proven EPCI expertise across marine operations, landfall construction, engineering, procurement, project delivery and commissioning. This integrated approach ensures efficiency, quality and predictable outcomes for developers, grid operators and interconnector customers. Through our strategic partnership with NBO, a global leader in the design, manufacture and testing of high‑voltage cable, we offer a seamless single‑source solution. NBO’s strong track record ensures high performance, reliability and full compatibility with major offshore wind and grid projects.

Specialised subsea installation services

Aquora will operate a bespoke, UK‑flagged Cable Laying Vessel (CLV) designed to install high‑voltage DC and AC subsea and land cables.

This new capability will:

  • Expand much‑needed installation and maintenance capacity
  • Increase competition in a constrained market
  • Improve delivery certainty and reduce project risk for developers
  • Strengthen resilience across the UK’s critical subsea energy infrastructure

The CLV will also support inspection, maintenance and emergency repair, helping safeguard essential national assets.

Engineering and operational hubs in Scotland

Aquora’s engineering, marine operations and project delivery teams will be based in Scotland — strengthening national capability, creating high‑value jobs and positioning Scotland at the centre of the UK’s transition towards low carbon, homegrown power.

Building Scotland's future manufacturing base

As part of our long‑term strategy, Aquora plans to develop a high‑voltage subsea cable manufacturing facility in Scotland.

This new facility will:

  • Deliver a sovereign supply of premium cable
  • Create hundreds of skilled jobs
  • Bring significant economic value to the region
  • Complement the installation business, ensuring the UK can meet rapidly growing HVDC and HVAC cable demand
  • Support long‑term energy security
