Join a purpose‑driven team shaping the future of the UK and Europe’s energy infrastructure

Aquora is helping deliver the UK and Europe’s transition towards low carbon, homegrown power by building a new generation of subsea cable system and installation capability.

To achieve this, we’re looking for talented, forward‑thinking people who want to help shape one of the UK’s most important emerging industries.

From our base in Scotland, we’re strengthening energy security, accelerating the shift to low carbon power and creating long‑term career opportunities across engineering, marine operations, project delivery and corporate functions.

If you’re passionate about low carbon energy infrastructure and want to contribute to a mission with national impact, we’d love to hear from you.

Our apprenticeship programme

Skilled HVDC cable jointers are in short supply in the UK. To bridge this gap, we are partnering with Ayrshire College to develop world-class cable jointers through dedicated training, with the opportunity to gain a Modern Apprenticeship (MA) in Engineering.

We are proud to offer a pathway into a high-tech, green industry—equipping the next generation with the skills to support the future of HVDC subsea cable manufacturing in the UK.

At the beginning of their journey to becoming a certified Aquora cable jointer, our apprentices will undertake progressive training in low voltage (LV), medium voltage (MV) and high voltage (HV) AC cable jointing and accessory preparation. Working with industry specialized supervisors and trainers, they will gain experience and knowledge in cable peeling, stripping, cutting, straightening, welding and heating, as well as ferrule pressing, and workshop practices.

Our apprentices will work from the Aquora Training Academy, located in Irvine, North Ayrshire, to carry out a three-year training plan taking them through theoretical and practical training required to obtain certification in 66kV AC, 110kV AC, 230kV AC, 320kV DC and 525kV jointing.
